Time............

Time, like the river in Tartu - free now from the ice that bound it - flows on. The water, carrying an occasional piece of ice, flows steadily under the bridges there in the city and somewhere beyond, empties into the sea.

And so it is with the three months I have had the privilege of being here. These people, this country, will remain in my heart. I may never come back. But, then again I might! But for now, time like the river has gone under the bridge.

Tuesday was the last time to go to Tartu. The four who have steadily come and quietly, patiently listened in my group there have touched my heart deeper than any others. I don't really know why. I know too that the feeling was mutual. Along with the memories, I have their picture, and they have mine. I have a little "friendship rock" painted like a ladybug that Anni gave me along with a hug. What I hope most is that some of the seed sown these weeks has fallen into "good soil".

In contemplation, all things do end. Life is full of growth and changes and moving beyond. Life is full of good-byes - some more difficult that others. But, each "end" also opens a new beginning!

April 1st

I suppose, since I mentioned posting pictures in a letter I sent, I'd better do it! Today was beautiful. Well, anyway it was beautiful compared to the weeks and weeks of cold with snow and ice underfoot!

So, we set out to enjoy the Old Town. It is like being in another world. We liked the quiet, the old buildings, the ancient cobbled streets, the crumbling wall, the views of the city from above. We went in a few shops and wished, but didn't buy. Finally, we came home tired and satisfied.

For me it was an extra pleasure to finally wear SHOES instead of snow boots.
