Spring!

I'm shocked to see that I haven't posted anything since I wrote of Laura's visit! I really thought I had, but if I did it isn't here.

Spring has come - at least on the calendar - and March will soon run out of days. The temperature has climbed above freezing. The snow looks limp and dingy, but it is still here. Streets are clear now, and some walkways are too. One could ALMOST go without these cumbersome boots! I can only imagine how free it will feel to actually step outside the door and go down the walk in SHOES!

Snow and ice on the roof avalanched down right in the middle of the steps that come up to our doorway. That made going out and in more "interesting" than usual today. We're glad it didn't happen while someone was walking there.

This week has had some highlights. Maria "rang up" from Ekaterinburg, Russia, and gave encouraging news of, and greetings from, those that Luda and I were in contact with last winter. Then on Thursday, Harriet and Kaye drove up from Latvia for a visit. It was short as they had to leave Friday morning, but Oh! SO SPECIAL.

We're glad for the feel of Spring in the air, even though there is no sign yet of green leaves. When that happens I'm sure it will inspire me to write again!

Do NOT wait on green leaves to write again... The first year we went was on April 30 and there were NO green leaves yet. Maybe they will come earlier this year! Loved the pictures as usual. Looks like 4 happy people!! Love, Bob & Roma

Always glad to hear how you are getting along. We don't have much green here, I have bulbs coming up on the south and west.

I think we have all been waiting to hear from you again on your blog!! And to see more pictures!
Was so great to actually see and talk with you too while Jana was here. We all enjoyed that. We actually have a spring day here today and right now it is 70 degrees at 5:00 with not much wind.
