Tuesday

It's a beautiful Fall afternoon here in Stockholm. Forests and
grass are still a bright green here, but early this morning we saw a
vail of white frost over the grass in places. There are gorgeous
splashes of red and gold and many shades in between splashed among trees
and shrubs
.
The greenhouse here is filled with blooming Cyclamen..white, rose,
red, pink...I love them! I asked how the name is said in Swedish, and
it sounds like "seeCLAmen".
The Russian embassy didn't even look formidable this morning, and we
were back outside with my passport - visa inserted - in minutes. Now to
re-pack and be ready in the morning for the airport.
I wish I had taken my camera Sunday morning. Laura and I went to
the other meeting home, where we were also invited for lunch. Windows
overlook one of the many arms of the sea that surround the islands this
city is built on and among. A string of sailboats were strung across
the water. Brilliantly colored trees on the other side added to the
beauty of the view.
Now it is time to go out for awhile, which will include the evening
meal in another home. I may be up late getting my "stuff" in order!!

Hopefully the next installment will be from Russia!

Hey, do you like my new walking shoes?????
Almost to Aland

Inside the walls of the churchyard (you have to read the letter to
know what this is about)

Buried outside the wall...

More outside the wall..

Cyclamens blooming in the greenhouse

The couple we are staying with are Gunnar and
Melanie. I am reading to their little girl, Ingrid. Johanna is
Gunnar's sister, and the little boy is Isaac...sounds like EEzak. He
was a baby in my Finland pictures before, has two older sisters who were
in school when we stopped yesterday. You can see the road going from
one island to another, and the interesting fences.
